School Gardens: Inosa Anguluwoni
In dialogue with schoolteachers, families, and students, Terrawatu cultivated ways to teach about 1) hands-on sustainable development, 2) the health and ecological benefits of organic farming, and 3) the increasing appearance of problematic genetically modified seeds (GM) into the local market.

Inspired by the sprouting up of school gardens in different places around the world, Terrawatu introduced the Inosa Anguluwoni (literally "eating the earth", or in Maa "the earth gives us everything we need") program to three school communities in northern Tanzania. With an initial grant from Seeds for Africa in the United Kingdom we provided the Arusha-area primary schools with seeds, tools, and advice for creating school gardens on their lands. Ilboro, Natema, and Ilkidin'ga Primary Schools in Arumeru District have harvested many diverse crops from their gardens.
