Since 2002, Terrawatu has been the program operator for the Global Exchange Tanzanian Reality Tour. Dozens of participants have said their dreams and expectations for the journey were so much more than met they return home to share their stories with family and friends.

The Tanzanian Reality Tour gives participants a chance to see with their own eyes the familiar problems associated with Africa – poverty, AIDS, unemployment, and the conflict of tradition versus the lures of a new globalized world – and to see some solutions in action.

The itinerary is built around the focal areas of Culture, Economy and Sustainable Development with the over-arching theme of seeing the positive aspects of grassroots development in Tanzania.
